Laser versus sandblasting

They solve different problems. Sandblasting abrades the surface to create frost, and is the efficient choice for large frosted areas. A laser removes coating or marks with digital precision and no masking step — no film to cut, weed, apply, or peel.

For mirror deletion specifically, laser is generally the appropriate tool: sandblasting removes the coating but leaves the glass frosted, whereas mirror deletion usually requires the glass to stay clear.

Shops running both typically use laser for coating work and fine detail, and sandblasting for volume frosting.

Can it cut through glass?

This is a surface processing system — coating removal, marking, decoration, and selected hole work — not a glass cutting machine. Describe your intended application and we will confirm whether it is suitable.

Does it need masking film?

No. The pattern is driven digitally from your file, which is a major advantage on complex or one-off designs where cutting and weeding a mask would dominate the job time.

What mirror types does it work with?

It processes standard mirror coatings. Coating chemistry varies by supplier, so tell us the specific product you run and we will confirm before you order.

What are the ventilation and safety requirements?

Laser processing requires appropriate extraction and enclosure. We will cover requirements as part of quoting so your installation is compliant from day one.
